Definition of RSS

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a special XML file format used to share the content of the frequently updated web sites with others. RSS technology allows the users to view the new content of the web sites (called as "RSS feed") without visiting them. In order to make use of RSS technology, address of the RSS file for the relevant web site should be added to an RSS reader program.

RSS Readers

RSS reader programs may be web-based (such as Google Reader, My Yahoo, Bloglines, Newsgator) or they can be installed on PC's. Also, the RSS supported web browsers and e-mail reading programs can be used as RSS readers. For instance:
