In the World University Rankings 2024 that the UK-based ranking institution Times Higher Education (THE) released on September 27, our university succeeded to rank first among the Turkish state universities and shared the first place among all Turkish universities with two foundation universities, while ranking in the 351-400 band in the world. Furthermore, METU was placed in the top 19.7% percentile worldwide in THE 2024, which is an all-time high success for our university. Additionally, we have increased 76 places in the area of Teaching compared to the previous year and ranked 213rd in the world.
Moreover, our university achieved another significant success by ranking first among Turkish universities and 336th in the world according to the QS World University Rankings 2024, which was announced in June 2023.
Middle East Technical University is the only university from Turkey that managed to rank in the top 400 in the world rankings of both institutions.
Just like the world university rankings of both QS and THE, another major success for our university was the results of the QS Europe Rankings 2024 announced last week, which once again demonstrated to the world that METU is the best university in Turkey. Our primary goal from now on is to strengthen our place among the best universities in the world by continuing our consistent rise with a sustainable approach. We sincerely congratulate all our members and stakeholders who have contributed to these important achievements of our university.
