The internationally recognized higher education ranking organization Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) has announced the World University Rankings 2025.
After ranking in the 601-650 band in 2021, 551-560 band in 2022, 501-510 band in 2023, and finally 336th last year, Middle East Technical University has risen to 285th place in the World University Rankings 2025, thus achieving its highest ranking to date.
While 2,963 universities were evaluated for the ranking last year, the number of higher education institutions assessed this year reached a total of 5,663, with 1,503 of them being listed in the ranking.
According to the results of this year’s rankings, METU attained its most successful position to date by ranking within the top 18.96% among all the universities included in the QS World University Rankings.
Additionally, the ranking of METU in the “employer reputation” indicator has risen by 153 places over the past three years, positioning it 101st in the world. Its ranking in the “academic reputation” indicator has also risen by 47 places, to 286th.
With these accomplishments, METU has secured the top position among the universities in Turkey in these fields.
