QS World University Rankings Under 29 Subjects

With the publication of "World University Rankings by Subject", United Kingdom centered firm QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) has announced their evaluation of world universities in 29 subjects under 5 fundamental categories at June 2012. The list consists of the top 200 universities of each subject.

The evaluation was conducted with respect to the following criteria:

• Academic reputation (survey reflecting academics' opinions)
• Employer reputation (survey reflecting employers' opinions)
• Citation per publication (Scopus 2006 - 2010)

Within the list announced, METU, ITU and Boğaziçi University have placed in the first 200 under 6 different subjects and Bilkent University and Istanbul University under 4 and 2 subjects respectively.

METU Civil Engineering Depatment is the only department from Turkey that is placed in the first 100 in the world.
